The decree on compulsory vaccination against coronavirus for certain categories of citizens was signed by the chief sanitary doctor of the Krasnodar Territory Maria Potemkina. Previously, the issue of combating infection with doctors and representatives of Rospotrebnadzor was discussed by the governor of Kuban, Veniamin Kondratyev.

"The chief doctors of the leading hospitals in the region turned to me with a request to introduce compulsory vaccination in the region. Unfortunately, the current situation leaves us no choice: from June 16, we see an increase in the number of cases," the head of the Krasnodar Territory wrote after the meeting on his Telegram channel.

In June 2021, the number of daily recorded cases of coronavirus infection in the Krasnodar Territory increased from 1.7 thousand people to 2.1 thousand per 100 thousand population. From June 1 to June 23, the number of cases of COVID-19 in the region increased by 23%. In accordance with the signed document, at least 60% of those working in the catering, education, trade, consumer services, organization of the tourism industry and transport are required to be vaccinated. The regulation does not apply to employees who have contraindications for vaccination against COVID-19.

"The residents of the region should receive the first component within a month, before July 23, and the second - until August 23," the Krasnodar Territory administration stressed.

The Rospotrebnadzor of the region noted that they will not be fined for refusing to vaccinate. Service workers who have not been vaccinated without medical contraindications will not be suspended from work for the time being. Now there are 239 vaccination points in the region, of which 56 are mobile. It was decided to extend the opening hours of vaccination points in shopping centers from 09:00 to 21:00.
