China's Customs Service has detained a man for attempting to illegally bring over 100 snakes into the country. The man transported the "live cargo" in his pants.

During a search of the passenger, officials removed six tightly bound and sealed canvas bags from the man's pockets. Live snakes of various species, shapes, and sizes were found inside them. According to officials, the man was trying to transport the snakes from Hong Kong to the Chinese border city of Shenzhen.

The cargo has been seized, and the man has been detained.China is one of the largest centers in the world for illegal wildlife trade. The annual turnover of the "black market" exceeds $20 billion. At the same time, few people think about the threat that such smuggling poses to fauna and rare species of animals, which are hunted the most.
