The Kronfest project, which unites art and ecology, has been held annually since 2008. This year the festival will take place on 26 August.
The event takes place on the basis of the Museum of the History of Kronstadt and in other closed and open spaces of the city, including the forts.
According to the organizers, the project presents a wide range of ecological art events - poster and photography exhibitions, workshops on creating art objects from recycled materials, graffiti contests on garbage cans, master classes under the motto "environmentally friendly art", projects on the forts.
“The festival attracts viewers with the bright colors of art, reorienting their interest in environmental protection and resource conservation, tactfully and unobtrusively forms an ecological culture among different segments of the population, primarily among young people,” the Kronfest website quotes the head of the organizing committee of the festival, the director of the Museum history of Kronstadt Evgeny Grishko.
According to him, the program is updated every year, but one project remains unchanged - the construction of art objects from garbage from the shores of the Gulf of Finland.
The exhibition of art objects on the square next to the Museum of the History of Kronstadt is exhibited all year round, becoming a landmark of the city, and the “Kronstadt Pegasus” by artist Yuri Stupitsa is a symbol of the festival.
The project involves visual and performing arts artists from Kronstadt, St. Petersburg, Russian cities and other countries.
