Green Globe named the 10 best eco-hotels in Europe

The international certification program of tourist infrastructure Green Globe identified the top ten eco-hotels in Europe. The first place in this list was given to L'apogée Courchevel (France). It is followed in turn by Eyja Guldsmeden Hotel (Iceland), Lefay Resort & SPA Lago di Garda (Italy), Villa Dubrovnik (Croatia), InterContinental London Park Lane, (UK), Manon les Suites (Denmark), Club Med Gregolimano (Greece), Monte Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort (Monaco), Grand Hotel Wien (Austria) and Bohinj ECO Hotel (Slovenia).

All hotels are located in picturesque protected areas, built with environmentally friendly materials, do not pollute the environment and offer customers dishes from local products.

Green Globe is an international sustainable tourism brand specifically designed for travel and tourism professionals. Green Globe certification is recognized by the World tourism organization and the World travel and tourism counci.

The Green Globe ecolabel is awarded to both tourism companies and a variety of sustainable tourism facilities: hotels, campgrounds, amusement parks, restaurants, golf courses, as well as environmentally friendly means of transport.
The Green Globe certification program and its ecolabel were established in 1999 by the Australian non-governmental organization Green Globe and EC3, an international certification body specializing in environmental management.
