In 2021, four new specially protected natural areas will be created in the Moscow region - in Ruza, Domodedovo, Solnechnogorsk and Odintsovo, according to the People's Choice portal.

They will be the Veyna coastal recreational zone in Ruza, the Gorkovsky natural-historical complex in Domodedovo and Leninsky, the Kurochkino swamp nature monument in Solnechnogorsk, the State nature reserve Forests and swamps of the Zhukovka and Ponosha watershed in Odintsovo.

In addition, according to the press center of the Moscow Regional Duma, four previously created PAs will be reorganized.

Nowadays, the Moscow region has a fairly rich network of specially protected natural areas of all three levels - federal, regional and local. All together, the specially protected areas of the Moscow Region fully reflect the natural diversity of the region. They represent well-preserved or unique ecosystems, individual landmarks and man-made objects.
