The Finnish sauna is included in the UNESCO intangible cultural heritage List.

"Sauna culture in Finland is an integral part of the life of the majority of the Finnish population, and includes much more than just washing," the international organization said in a statement.

In Finland, there are about three million saunas per 5.5 million inhabitants. They attract Finns of all ages, who expel stress through the pores of the skin at a temperature of about 85°.

According to followers, the sauna improves health and mental well-being.
