The environmental and educational holiday will be held at the resort on July 15. It was on July 15, 2016, that the first animals born in the Sochi National Park Leopard Restoration Center and prepared for life in their natural habitat were released into the wild.

The idea of holding a holiday in honor of the rarest big cats in the world belongs to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation. The department also adopted the Program for the reintroduction of the Persian leopard in the Caucasus and participated in the creation of a corresponding unit in the Sochi National Park. The key event of the Day of the Persian Leopard in Sochi will be the official ceremony of laying the bronze footprints of the Persian leopard in the Arboretum Park.

At the Rosa Khutor resort, the celebration will start at 10 am with exercises and a run with Tokyo Olympic champion in gymnastics Nikita Nagorny. At 11 o'clock, a photo exhibition dedicated to the Persian leopard will open on Rosa Square. From 12:00 to 15:00, an entertainment zone with master classes in drawing a leopard and knitting knots, and face painting will work on the same site. At 13:00, younger visitors to the resort will be able to take part in the festive relay race "Obstacle Course" and in the standing long jump competition - "Leopard Jump».

Rosa Khutor and its shareholder, Interros, have supported the activities of the Center from the very beginning of its operation. In the spring of this year, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation and the mountain resort signed an Agreement on cooperation in the implementation of activities within the framework of the federal project "Conservation of biological diversity and development of ecological tourism." The specific subject of this document is practical cooperation on the restoration of the Persian leopard, one of the individual rare and endangered objects of the animal world.
