Bulgaria celebrated World Walking Day with a series of events organized by the "Sport for All" federation. This annual event, now in its 32nd year, has seen a mass participation in walking marathons across the country. People of all ages, genders, and fitness levels were invited to take part.

The mountain resort of Bansko was particularly popular among walking enthusiasts, attracting participants from all over Bulgaria and abroad. The National Park Pirin provided a stunning backdrop for the event.

Among the walkers were many young people, preschool children, and the elderly. Even members of the Bansko municipality, known for its sports-loving residents, joined in on the fun.

At the start of the walk, each participant received a raffle ticket. Lucky winners were awarded prizes and gifts. For those who didn't win, there were informative lectures on the benefits of regular walking for health, productivity, and longevity.

Sponsored by the Bulgarian Ministry of Youth and Sports, World Walking Day is part of the national program "BULFAR 2021-2024," which aims to promote physical activity among the Bulgarian population.
