A native of the Bulgarian city of Gotse Delchev has opened a cafe called "Sofia" in Japan. Married to a Japanese woman, Todor Georgiev lived in Tokyo for 5 years before the family moved to the town of Nishio - the center of Japanese tea production. It was there that Todor got the idea to open a cafe where, in addition to tea, visitors would be treated to delicious pastries. Together with his wife, they mastered the production of Bulgarian, French, and Italian pastries. Now, in the center of Nishio, "Sofia" has appeared - this is how the international family named the cafe.
Initially, the couple wanted to name their establishment "Kazanlak" - in honor of the Bulgarian capital of the Valley of Roses. But for the Japanese, this word proved to be difficult to pronounce. Then it was decided to name the cafe with a simpler and more beautiful name "Sofia".
Now the Bulgarian cafe has become another attraction of the Japanese city, famous not only for its beautiful beaches and amazing nature but also for its traditional restaurants. The Bulgarian cafe is gaining popularity among locals and tourists as an exotic Balkan cuisine establishment.
