The press service of the Kirovsky branch of JSC Apatit (part of the PhosAgro Group) announced the end of the ski season at the Bolshoy Vudyavr ski resort. This past winter, it was visited by more than 405 thousand guests, which is 21% more than last year.
In addition, the resort set a record for the duration of the ski season - 210 days, which is five days longer than the previous record season of 2021-2022. Thus, "Bolshoy Vudyavr" once again confirmed that the season here is the longest among Russian ski resorts located at medium altitudes.
"The upcoming off-season at Bolshoy Vudyavr will be another stage of active work on the development of the resort. So,in addition to the traditional landscaping of the slopes and the central square, it is planned to install additional high-intensity lighting on the tracks, develop service and guest areas, and expand and improve equipment rental," the message says.
Work on the new gondola-type cable car will continue on the South Slope in order to increase the lift's capacity to 2250 people per hour. The length of the new cable car along the slope is about 2000 meters, and the rolling stock is made up of full-size panoramic cabins. Boarding the cable car is carried out directly from the parking lot.
In the summer, Bolshoy Vudyavr will continue to operate. Tourists will be able to climb to the top of Mount Aikkuaivenchorr, which offers breathtaking views of Kirovsk and the Khibiny Mountains. Hiking trails of varying difficulty also start there. The Platô panoramic complex will also continue its work, the menu of which combines northern hospitality, the flavor of the Kola Arctic and a respectful attitude to the traditions of European cuisine.
"Bolshoy Vudyavr" is the core of the Khibiny ski and tourist cluster. In the future, it is planned to build the Aurora water complex and a hotel near the northern slope of Mount Aikkuaivenchorr. The design of these facilities is currently underway. Aurora is expected to accommodate up to 780 visitors at a time. The new 165-room hotel (about 450 beds) will be the first full-fledged SKI-INN/SKI-OUT hotel in the Khibiny. The completion of the construction of the hotel complex and water park is scheduled for the end of 2027.
