Moscow Domodedovo Airport on Animal Protection Day told what animals were transported through the air harbor since the beginning of 2022.
From January to October, more than 18,000 animals were accepted for processing at the Domodedovo Cargo terminal of the airport, the total weight of which was over 150 tons.
Thus, the airport provided transportation of insects, dogs, cats, chinchillas, birds, fish, lionesses, foxes, kangaroos, lynxes, as well as an injured Dixon bear, which was taken to the Moscow Zoo for rehabilitation.
The heaviest load turned out to be fish. Their total weight was about 80 tons. In second place are birds — about 45 tons. Pets closed the top three — their total weight exceeded 15 tons.
