A Russian tourist was the first to rush to the aid of a drowning Indian citizen, resting at the Candolim beach in the north of Goa. He saved the man from imminent death.

According to state police, a 30-year-old local tourist from Nagpur fell asleep on the beach after a hearty dinner and did not notice the tide coming.

When the vacationer, who was intoxicated, began to get drowned the first to come was a Russian tourist and then emergency rescuers joined the “operation”. As a result, the Indian was pulled out of the water and brought to his senses in the primary care center of Candolim.

In the very near future, the Goa authorities plan to deploy special security forces on its beaches. Their main task is to monitor the situation on the coast where incidents with drunken drowned people have become more frequent. The majority of them are just the citizens of the country who do not know how to swim.

Recently, there was another tragic case when two drunk tourists from the Indian state of Karnataka drowned in the sea 15 meters from the beach in the north of Goa. At the same time, according to Goa's chief minister Pramod Sawant, the rescuers warned them not to go into the sea while intoxicated, but vacationers ignored their sound advice.
