2.7 billion rubles of soft loans will be allocated for the reconstruction and development of the Ponizovkin Castle tourist complex in the village of Krasny Profintern in the Yaroslavl Region. This was announced by the regional department of tourism.

The project is being implemented within the framework of an agreement signed by the regional governor Mikhail Evraev and investor Tigran Kazaryan at SPIEF 2022.

“The investor is planning a major reconstruction and restoration of buildings, structures and factory premises of the former starch and syrup plant of the merchant Ponizovkin, an architectural monument of the 19th century, in order to create a large modern tourist complex of federal significance. At the same time, the Ponizovkin castle itself will become a multifunctional center with conference, concert and dining halls, and hotels will be located in the buildings of the plant management, the House of Engineers and shopping arcades,” the report says.

The project includes not only the adaptation of old workshops and warehouses to modern conditions, but also the construction of new facilities, including a spa center with a swimming pool and a restaurant, landscaping of the territory with park landscaping and the installation of small architectural forms.

“In the immediate vicinity of the Ponizovkin castle, a hotel complex will be deployed with the services of tourism, educational, cultural and sports areas. The main compositional core of the complex will be ponds for sports fishing with adjacent recreational and sports grounds, as well as an open summer theater for concerts and festivals,” the Department of Tourism of the Yaroslavl Region noted.
