Eighty-seven airlines declared bankruptcy between 2011 and 2019, which affected the interests of 5.6 million passengers, said the European Association of Travel Agencies and Tour Operators (ECTAA).

"The crisis related to COVID-19 has put additional pressure on airline finances. Therefore, it is not surprising that in the period of socio-economic uncertainty experienced by Europe, analysts are still concerned about airline bankruptcies," the press release issued by the association says.
