The head of the Federal Tourism Agency, Zarina Doguzova, said that this is not only higher than last year, but even than pre-pandemic 2019.
According to her, transport restrictions did not interfere with the holiday season in popular southern destinations.
"In Crimea, the drop in demand was about 20% compared to last year. In the Krasnodar Territory, the tourist flow even exceeded last year by several percent," Doguzova said in her telegram channel.
According to her, in addition to the traditional beach holidays on the Black Sea and the Baltic, active routes in Altai, Karelia and summer Baikal are becoming more and more popular every year. The novelty of the season was Bashkiria. The regions of the Far East, Primorye, Kamchatka and Sakhalin also attract tourists.
Doguzova noted that interest in recreation in the North Caucasus has almost doubled compared to last year. The most demanded in this region were combined tours in several republics at once. Such routes give tourists the opportunity to see the diversity of cultures and traditions within one trip.
In addition, travelers chose educational trips to historical cities, car routes and river cruises.
“We have a golden autumn ahead of us, the start of the ski season. Sales of tours, bookings, hotels for this period have already grown two to three times thanks to our tourist cashback program,” Doguzova said.
