National tour operator "Alean" in honor of its 30th anniversary this year organizes a number of projects to promote travel in Russia. Thus, during the year the company will conduct a series of expeditions dedicated to the culture, traditions, customs, gastronomy and life of the country's indigenous peoples.

“As part of the Expeditions to the Best Traditions project, Alean will talk about representatives of the indigenous peoples of the Murmansk region, Karelia, Altai Territory, Dagestan, Astrakhan, Krasnodar Territory, Tyva, Yugra, Sakhalin and Baikal,” the company said on its website.

At the end of March, the first expedition to the Murmansk region had already taken place.

For three days, the group got acquainted with the culture of the Skolto-Sami in the community of the indigenous people "Tuloma", visited the Deer Yard of the community "Loparskaya", saw the colorful life of the Kildin Sami and competitions in national sports as part of the annual holiday of the Reindeer Breeder's Day, and also tasted traditional dishes peoples of the North, the company noted.

“Ethnotourism today is not only a tribute to modern tourism trends to “immerse yourself in the environment of the indigenous population of the country”, it is an opportunity to preserve the cultural heritage and inspire people to know their roots through the traditions, symbols and gastronomic characteristics of the peoples living in different regions,” said commercial director of "Alean" Oksana Bulakh.
