Russia has begun work on the compilation of a museum cluster in the Arctic, which involves the creation of a museum, cultural, educational and event partnership and a cluster of all museums on the subject of this region.

This was announced on Friday by Rustam Romanenkov, State Secretary - Deputy Director General of the Center for Arctic Initiatives, during a session dedicated to the management of marine resources in the Arctic, within the framework of the international forum "Russia's Chairmanship of the Arctic Council - Environmental Agenda for Russia and the World.»

The large-scale work, called "Study, preservation and popularization of the cultural and historical heritage of the Arctic", will be a joint project of the Russian Ethnographic Museum, the branch of the Museum of the World Ocean in St. Petersburg - Icebreaker Krasin - and ANO Center Arctic Initiatives.

It involves uniting the efforts of the museum community and activating specific projects to study, preserve and popularize the cultural heritage of the Arctic - the implementation of exhibition projects, research work and work with young people, visitors, and product preparation.

As the initiators note, this is done so that as many citizens of the Russian Federation and abroad as possible know about our beautiful Arctic.

Rustam Romanenkov noted that in the near future the organizers of the project plan to have the support of Rostourism. A roadmap has already been created, which will be supplemented as new participants join.
