The new tourist season on the oldest operating paddle steamer "N. V. Gogol" will open in Arkhangelsk on May 25. The program of the voyage includes a two-hour boat trip along the Severnaya Dvina River, a radio tour "Arkhangelsk - the City on the Dvina" and musical accompaniment. This was reported by the Pomorland.travel tourist portal of the Arkhangelsk Region.
"N. V. Gogol" voyages will open summer navigation.
"This summer, tourists will be able to purchase tickets for traditional two-hour sightseeing voyages along the water area of the port of Arkhangelsk, exclusive musical voyages during the white nights, night retro voyages on a paddle steamer, and also for river voyages from the pier of Arkhangelsk to the Yagry Island," the portal reports.
Travel routes run along the panorama of Arkhangelsk, between the islands of the picturesque delta of the Severnaya Dvina River, along the channels and rivers to the piers of Yagry Island on the White Sea coast.
"Guests of Arkhangelsk will be able to meet the sunrise or sunset on the open deck of the steamer, spend the night in the cabins of the oldest passenger ship to the sounds of live music, enjoy the luxury of the light of the white nights, the sound of waves and the aroma of the summer river," notes pomorland.travel.
In addition, passengers will see on the ship the original triple expansion steam engine, steam boilers, pumps, engine telegraph and other mechanisms installed since the construction of the steamer and working flawlessly for over 110 years.
Also on May 25 and 26, excursions to the steamer will be organized for groups.
"Tourists will be able to board a unique monument of domestic shipbuilding, appreciate the features of the technical device of the legendary ship, hear stories about how passengers of the 1st and 2nd class of the early 20th century spent their time, imagine the heroic paintings of a veteran of the river fleet during the war years," the message says.
