Within the framework of the working meeting of the Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation Alexander Kozlov with the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, which took place this week in Moscow, the creation of a "Center for the Study of Rare Species of Cats", an ecological educational center, as well as the Republic's activities in the national project «Ecology" were on the agenda. This is stated on the official website of the department.
The creation of the "Center for the Study of Rare Species of Cats" Ak-Bars ", which will be located in the Kamsko-Ustinsky municipal district, is provided for by the federal project " Conservation of biological diversity and development of ecological tourism". To date, a draft technical assignment has already been developed for the design of a capital construction facility.
The project will be financed from extra-budgetary sources by concluding agreements within the framework of the Business Biodiversity initiative of the federal project, with the possibility of starting financing of work starting from 2021.
The construction of an environmental education center in Kazan involves the creation of a 3-storey building with a capacity of 300 people, with an area of 5700 sq. m. and the possible coverage of environmental education activities for 150,000 children per year. On the territory of the proposed development there is a botanical collection, which is represented by 684 taxa of plants.
In addition, the parties discussed the participation of the republic in the national project "Ecology". Within the framework of the project, the authorities of the republic intend to reclaim the silt fields of biological treatment facilities in the city of Kazan and dismantle the inactive oil pipelines of the Ozernoye oil field in the Nizhnekamsk reservoir. Funding has been pledged since 2022.
