The development of tourism infrastructure in the Murmansk Region was discussed by the participants of the second sectoral strategic session "The Arctic opens its doors: a hospitable Arctic", held in Murmansk, the regional tourism committee reported.

The session was attended by representatives of the tourism and hotel industry, guides, souvenir makers, representatives of municipal authorities, museums, libraries and archives.

In 2023, the Murmansk region received a record number of tourists – 670,000 people, which is 24% more than in 2022. The total tourist flow in 5 years has reached 2.5 million.

"Our task is to maintain and create new infrastructure both for the guests who come and pay for services here, and for our residents, who are increasingly using the infrastructure that is being created in the tourism sector. Over 4 years, 122 projects worth 352 million rubles have been supported, which makes it possible to create high-quality infrastructure at a rapid pace for the growing flow," said Alexander Eliseev, Chairman of the Murmansk Region Tourism Committee.
