Major Russian travel companies went to the Kuril Islands on a business mission

The Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East and the Arcticand the Corporation for the Development of the Far East andthe Arctic, together with the government of the Sakhalin Region,organized a business mission toKunashir Island.

The event was attended by representatives of Cronwell Hotels & Resorts, the Hotel ManagementAlliance, Capital Group, the Federation of Restaurateurs andHoteliers of Russia, the Glamping Association of Russia, the YachtGlamping Park "Tochka Nemo" andGreentech, working in the tourismsector.

"Today we discussed the construction of modern hotelcomplexes, recreation areas, fishprocessing and other industries onthe islands. This is important notonly to increase the touristattractiveness of the Kuriles, butalso in terms of creating new jobsfor residents of our entire region,"said Valery Limarenko, Governor of the Sakhalin Region.

Eight investment sites for theconstruction of hotel and entertainment complexes andglamping complexes werepresented to investors.

Since 2022, the Kuril Islands have established the most attractivebusiness conditions in Russia.Business is exempt from payingtaxes on income, property,transport and land for 20 years;pays insurance premiums reducedto 7.6%. Work on attracting businessto the Kuril Islands is underway withboth foreign and Russian investors,the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East and the Arctic reported.
