A Taste of the Arctic: Gastronomic Festival in Murmansk

A team of restaurateurs and chefs will present an Arctic cuisine menu, which will include, for example, dumplings with cod and salmon, pancakes with crab, pomakushka with paltus and cod, Murmansk "toshnotiki", Pomeranian fish zapeburikha, soleniya with cloudberries.

The Fifth Gastronomic Festival "Taste of the Arctic" will be held in the heart of Murmansk, on Vorovsky Street, from May 24 to 26. A team of restaurateurs and chefs will present an Arctic cuisine menu, which will widely use the gifts of the Barents Sea and products from Murmansk region producers. 

This was reported on its website by the Committee for Tourism of the region. "Within the framework of the event, there will be gastronomic and cultural performances on the open kitchen. Leading restaurateurs of the region will present their festival dish and tell about its history and recipe,cooking principles, special ingredients, legends and traditions of Arctic cuisine, and also hold spectacular culinary master classes," - they told in the committee. 

Festival guests will be able to choose from the menu, for example, such dishes as dumplings with cod and salmon, pancakes with crab, waffles with pulled venison, beef stroganoff, stewed venison with vegetables and noodles, pomakushka with paltus and cod, Murmansk "toshnotiki", Pomeranian fish zapeburikha, soleniya with cloudberries, scroll with venison.  

As part of the festival, the office of the Murmansk Region Tourist Information Center will be open, where you can learn about popular programs for travelers and take part in the lottery. Among the prizes for the lottery participants are a tourist souvenir "Polar Explorer's Passport", trips to the Murmansk region, festival dishes, nights in the best hotels of the region, gastronomic souvenirs. "A traditional Arctic mail will be organized at the festival, where everyone can send their loved ones exclusive commemorative postcards from the Arctic," - the message says.
