On August 30, Governor of the Altai Territory Viktor Tomenko held a meeting dedicated to the completion of work on the master plan for the creation of the Belokurikha Mountain balneological resort.

“During the meeting, the final draft of the master plan “Belokurikha Mountain” was presented, providing for the development of a tourist area in the coming years,” the statement said.

on the website of the Altai Territory Administration for the Development of Tourism and Resort Activities.

As the head of the region noted in his Telegram channel, it is planned to create from scratch the first balneological resort in the modern history of the country.

“I’m sure the entire region will feel the effect. This is a serious investment in infrastructure development, thanks to which about 235 thousand residents and guests of the region will be able to vacation at the new resort every year,” Tomenko said.

According to him, on the territory of the tourist zone with an area of about 49 hectares, with the participation of the Tourism.RF corporation and the support of the federal government, several health-improving and hotel complexes for tourists are planned to be launched in the next five years. “Work on the master plan is in its final stages, I held a meeting on this matter. They discussed in detail the schedule for both the creation of tourism infrastructure and the construction of a radon pipeline, through which the new resort will be provided with mineral water from the Iskrovskoye deposit,” the governor said.

Tomenko called the construction of a radon pipeline worth about 580 million rubles one of the key issues. He explained that given the landscape with elevation changes, this is not an easy process.

“Research has been conducted confirming the healing properties of water. What is important now is intensive work in the field of exploration and design, so that by the time the first hotel complexes are launched, mineral water will already be available to tourists. We also count on federal support in this matter,” Tomenko noted.

According to the governor, the total investment in Belokurikha Gornaya is estimated at 17.6 billion rubles. The funds, in particular, will be used for the construction of three- and four-star hotels, an aquathermal complex, and the arrangement of public spaces, for example, for holding festivals. It is also planned to create an eco-trail that will run through the entire tourist area.
