The organizers describe the event as a «festival of romance, magic and wish fulfillment».

“The Water Lantern Festival is an event that has become a good tradition in St. Petersburg. According to an ancient legend, lanterns fulfill the most secret dreams. When there are thousands of them, this is not only a magnificent sight, but also a huge energy to bring the desired closer, ”the organizers note on the festival’s VK page.

On the alleys of the Yusupov Garden you can meet a mime, living figures and huge lotuses. The musical accompaniment of the festival will be rock hits performed by a symphony orchestra.

Guests will be treated to street fire tamers, fire-breathing fakirs, a laser show, and "an amazing fire-pyrotechnic show on stage using a flamethrower," the organizers promise.

For three evenings, residents and guests of St. Petersburg will be able to make their cherished wishes by floating lanterns in the shape of cubes and lotuses on the Yusupov Garden pond.
