Forest cover in the US cities is rapidly sinking. A study by the US Forest Service showed that in the communities of the country 36 million trees have been lost annually over the past 5 years.

David Novak, senior official at the US Forest Service and co-author of the study said that if it continues cities will become warmer, more polluted, and generally more harmful to residents.

According to him, despite the fact that there are many different causes of death, including hurricanes, tornadoes, fires, insects and diseases, most often the human is the only reason. And first of all it concerns the construction of buildings and roads.

According to experts, due to the loss of trees, which play a crucial role in improving the environmental situation of air quality, water, lowering air temperature in the summer, the United States loses $ 96 million per year.
