The Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary in Uganda reopens to tourists. A herd of these rare animals can be seen in a reserve located in the central Nakasongola region, said the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) in a statement.

"The current 33 southern white rhinos received from Rhino Fund Uganda are in good health. We assure the public that the sanctuary will continue to be a center of excellence in rhino breeding," UWA added.

Also, according to the UWA, since the shelter will soon no longer be able to accommodate the new thick-skinned giants, studies are underway to move some of the rhinos to national parks, where there is significantly more room for their life in the wild.
