The number of tourists from foreign countries visiting Turkey is increasing. According to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, 49.18 million people visited the country in the first 9 months of 2024. This is 8.74% more compared to the same period last year.

According to the Minister of Culture and Tourism, Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, the government expects the total number of tourists to reach 61 million by the end of 2024.

Most foreign travelers in the period from January to September 2024 came from Russia - 5.47 million people, followed by Germany and the United Kingdom.

According to preliminary results for the first nine months, Turkey's tourism revenues grew by 6.6% year-on-year, reaching $46.9 billion. By the end of the year, this figure is expected to reach $60 billion.

Foreign currency coming to Turkey from the tourism sector is vital for the country's budget.
