France invites all foreign guests to undergo PCR tests to detect COVID-19 free of charge. This was announced on the air of the Europe 1 TV channel by Secretary of State for European Affairs Clement Beaune.
““We need, we want, in good sanitary conditions, to remain the leading European and world tourist destination. France was the only European country providing the option of free PCR tests,” he said. He mentioned that this step is necessary for the economic revival of tourism.
For example, in Spain, Great Britain, Germany and Sweden this test costs 50-300 euros.
From May 19, France will gradually move to the long-awaited second phase of recovery from isolation and the lifting of a number of quarantine measures. Terraces of bars and restaurants will be open to the public, many public places, including museums, cinemas and theaters since October last year. Also, the timing of the curfew will shift - from 19:00 to 21:00.
This relaxation became possible due to the improvement of the epidemiological situation. According to the country's health authorities, 20 million people, or almost a third of the population, have already been vaccinated, and there has also been a relative decline in the number of daily deaths and confirmed COVID.
