The official website of the Mayor of Moscow reported that this year, landscaping work is being carried out in two sections of the Yauza park along Olonetsky passage and Suhonskaya street. Previously, the pavement in these areas was changed locally and selectively, so the paths are in varying degrees of deterioration.
As expected, as a result of the improvement, thematic routes will appear: cycling, running, ecological and recreational. They will be carried out in the same style as previously landscaped areas.
In particular, an eco-trail on piles will be built for visitors. Wooden decking will help reduce damage to soil and vegetation, as well as being less disturbing to animals. The path will pass in the most inaccessible places, including wetlands. This will allow visitors to the park to get acquainted with the pristine nature. The total length of the deck will be more than 1.6 kilometers.
A picturesque cycling lane 2.2 kilometers long will stretch along Suhonskaya Street. It will be separated from the main footpaths. On the one hand, it will be connected to the previously landscaped section from the Moscow Ring Road to Yeniseiskaya Street, and on the other, to Zapovednaya Street. The asphalt track will be laid along the high bank of the Yauza, so cyclists will be able to enjoy panoramic views of the floodplain.
Another new route will be running. A 2.8 km long rubber-coated path will stretch along Olonets passage among trees and shrubs. Sports fields will be located on the sides.
The park will also be equipped with walking paths and transit trails with a total length of over 10 kilometers. Walking paths will be tiled. They will be designed for leisurely walks through the picturesque places of the park. Asphalt transit trails will connect the functional areas and park entrances with the main routes in the shortest possible way.
