Three new national tourist routes have appeared in Russia

The press service of the Ministry of Economic Development reported that the routes of the Kemerovo and Murmansk regions, as well as the route connecting the Republic of Tatarstan, the Chuvash Republic and the Republic of Mari El, received national status. The new status will help the regions reveal their tourism potential and provide an opportunity to make tourist attractions more accessible.

One of the routes is the “Great Volga Way”. It includes cities such as Kazan, Yoshkar-Ola, Cheboksary and Sviyazhsk Island. The route should open up cultural and natural attractions, ethnic traditions and cuisines of the Volga region to tourists. Its total length is about 500 km.

Tourists who decide to travel along the “Great Volga Route” will be able to visit the Museum of the History of Statehood of the Tatar People and the Republic of Tatarstan in the Kazan Kremlin, ride a Meteor along the Volga and watch a folklore performance in Kazan.

The route of the Kemerovo region “Mountain Shoria” received a new status. To the children of the taiga." The ethnic program will allow tourists to get in touch with the life and culture of the small indigenous people of Mountain Shoria - the Shors. As part of the route, travelers will visit the Shorsky National Park and travel several kilometers on motor boats, and also get acquainted with the inhabitants of the taiga village leading a traditional way of life. The route includes several interactive programs, including iron smelting using the ancient Shor method in a clay oven, pine nut crushing and an art workshop.

Travelers will learn about the history of the development of the Murmansk region and the development of the Kola Arctic by indigenous peoples as part of the “Transpolar Kaleidoscope” route. They will be able to visit the nuclear icebreaker "Lenin", the interactive museum and exhibition center "Apatit", and also visit a Sami village.

Currently, more than 40 routes have been assigned national status.
