The press service of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation reported that Russian and Iranian tour operators have begun to adapt and introduce joint travel products for the organization of visa-free tourist trips between the two countries. It is expected that by the end of the year, the mutual visa-free tourist flow will amount to about 40 thousand tourists.
The first two tourist groups with a total of 86 people have already arrived from Tehran to Moscow. Two more groups are scheduled to arrive this week. They will have a busy route with excursions to the main attractions of the capital. Guests will visit the Red Square, the Kremlin, Zaryadye Park, the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, Victory Park and other iconic places.
The ministry noted that the main destinations currently of interest to Iranian tourists are Moscow and St. Petersburg.
Previously, mostly individual tourists came to Russia from Iran. With the start of the visa-free agreement for tourist groups, the tourist flow should increase significantly.
