Yesterday, the Russian Minister for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic, Alexei Chekunkov, was presented a project to create a tourist complex "Port Liinakhamari" in the Pechenga district of the Murmansk region, as reported on the website of the government of the Murmansk region.
The project will unite various attractions of the Pechenga Municipal District and will allow the development of different types of tourism.
“The Murmansk region represents an ideal balance from an economic point of view - it has a large economy and projects of large companies - NOVATEK, Norilsk Nickel, EuroChem, PhosAgro, as well as tourism potential. Your team has proven that it knows how to make projects that provide high-quality service for both Russians and foreign guests. We will support your projects and undertakings,” said Alexei Chekunkov, head of the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East.
Governor Andrei Chibis stressed that the tourism project in the Pechenga District will ensure the socio-economic development of the region, the growth of small and medium-sized businesses, and will also create new jobs.
“Currently, the project aims to use the unique potential of the Arctic to attract a large number of people and raise the region's economy. The main thing is to create a modern tourist infrastructure for those who live in the Murmansk region today and for those who come to the North,” added Andrey Chibis.
The tourist cluster will include: 2 tourist villages, a hotel complex in the village, 8 glampings, a network of tourist routes, landscaped paths to waterfalls, 2 runways for small aircraft, highways, engineering infrastructure networks.
The project is being implemented by the Norilsk Nickel company. The funding for the project is RUB 30 billion.
