According to the Russian Ministry of Natural Resources on its website, the photo shelters on the "Land of the Leopard" is a unique project that allows you to observe wild animals in their natural habitat. Both professional photographers and amateurs can take pictures of wild animals, including the rarest Far Eastern leopards.
“The photo shelters start working in the second half of autumn. By this time, leaves are falling from the trees, and it becomes easier to observe the animals,” the message says.
Currently, you can book photo shelters at three sites in the national park. These are small heated rooms with a working area, sleeping places, a kitchen and a bathroom.
“Depending on the chosen place, the Far Eastern forest cat, the Indian marten, the crested eagle, the Siberian weasel, ungulates and, of course, with luck, the Far Eastern leopard can get into the frame. Once, another rare large cat of the Land of the Leopard, the Amur tiger, was also captured from the photo shelter,” the Russian Ministry of Natural Resources noted.
You can also try your hand as an animal photographer as part of individual multi-day tours to the "Land of the Leopard", the department noted. Accompanied by an experienced guide, tourists set up camera traps, look for traces of leopards and tigers, and get acquainted with the unique nature of the region. At the same time, accommodation is organized in a hotel with the conditions necessary for a comfortable stay away from the big city, the ministry said.
“Some of our guests have already returned to us several times. Such leisure allows you to change your usual way of life as much as possible, get away from the hustle and bustle and be completely alone with nature,” Olesya Storozhuk, Deputy Director of the Land of the Leopard Federal State Budgetary Institution, was quoted by the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia.
