This step is aimed at joining efforts in improving professionalism and quality in the provision of tourism services. This is especially true given the entry into force on July 1, 2022 of amendments to the federal law "On the Fundamentals of Tourism in the Russian Federation" in terms of mandatory certification of instructors-guides, supplementing the previously defined requirement for their mandatory professional training.
The resort and the university plan to first of all start developing a cycle of educational programs of a modular type, allowing both experienced practicing guides and people striving to form a career in active tourism to acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary for working in the industry.
The resort provides the partnership with a wide range of infrastructure and service opportunities that allow deploying a whole range of educational and training programs in the mountains, and the unique geographical location of Rosa Khutor not only makes it possible to organize training programs at any time of the year, but also makes this training base easily accessible to those interested. from all over the country.
We are extremely pleased to find a partner in the face of Sochi State University, since we reasonably count on its ability to set the highest level of quality in educational programs, - says Dmitry Kolosov, Director for Sustainable Development of the Rosa Khutor Resort.
As the training base develops, its opportunities may become available for those who do not plan to engage in active tourism professionally, but are looking for opportunities to improve their training in order to expand their own capabilities and travel to more remote, but no less attractive places.
The university invests a scientific approach and a good tradition of higher education in partnership”, we also take into account the legislative changes taking place in this area. A new professional standard “Instructor-guide” was adopted at the end of 2021, they are preparing for the issuance of a decree of the Government of the Russian Federation on the approval of tourist routes that require accompaniment by an instructor-guide, on the certification procedure for instructor-guides, as well as on maintaining a register of these professionals working in a very attractive tourists, but also a very risky destination.
Today, joining forces with the largest mountain resort in our country, we are taking a step towards the formation of a professional training center, focusing on the best examples of world practice and relying on the best of the domestic tradition that has been preserved since the mass involvement of Soviet citizens in active tourism, - comments the director of the Center for Additional education of Sochi State University Lev Kozhevnikov.
Rosa Khutor and Sochi State University expect to start implementing professional training programs and improving the skills of guide instructors as early as this year.
