Charters to Egypt were given take-off clearance. On July 8, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin canceled the previous decree dated November 8, 2015 by a new decree, which was published on the official Internet portal of legal information http://publication.pravo.gov.ru.

According to the press secretary of the Russian Union of Travel Industry (PCT), if there are the necessary slots and permits for flights, tour operators will quickly be able to provide Russians with tourist programs.

However, Tyurina noted that this summer in Egypt is very hot, the temperature in the resorts of the Red Sea reaches 38 degrees in the shade, so in the remaining months of summer tourist trips in this direction are unlikely to be in great demand.

However, tour operators have a different opinion. Thus, Izvestia quoted the general director of the tour operator Tez Tour, Voskan Arzumanov as saying in an interview that if charter flights are resumed then we should expect an increase in demand by 1000-1300 percent since most large tour operators are able to quickly offer Russians tours with daily departures to Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh.

It should be noted that earlier Presidents Vladimir Putin and Abdel Fattah Al Sisi agreed on the full resumption of air traffic between Russia and Egypt at the end of April 2021. At the same time, regular flights to the capital of Egypt, Cairo, could be launched from April 2018. Sharm el-Sheikh and Hurghada are popular among Russians and remained inaccessible meanwhile.

It should be admitted that Russian tourists quickly found a way out. Until now, for a little over 400 dollars per tourist, you can stay for 7 nights in popular resorts, having gone to Egypt through Belarus, the cost of a ticket to Belarus is paid independently. A flight through Istanbul is somewhat more expensive.

The only problem with this kind of tours was the connection between flights, which could take up to half a day, as a result of which the road to the resort was rather long and tiring. Now this problem will soon be resolved.

According to Maya Lomidze, director of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR), the cost of tours to Egypt, measured in dollars, is unlikely to change.

She was cited by TASS as saying that a week of living in a resort in a three-star hotel for one person will cost from three hundred to five hundred dollars. At the same time, according to Lomidze, tourist packages began to be formed literally on the day the ban on charter flights was lifted and may be available to Russians within the next few weeks.

As for the situation with the coronavirus, a tourist must have a negative PCR test.

The test must be done no later than 72 hours before entering the country. It is also possible to provide a certificate of vaccination translated into English, and the vaccine must be approved by the Egyptian Ministry of Health. It is worth recalling that of all currently available domestic Russian vaccines, only Sputnik V is included in the Egyptian list.

Children under 6 years old can enter the country without vaccination certificates, and the date of the last vaccination against coronavirus, if a certificate is provided, should be no earlier than two weeks to date.

Before all these sad events, Egypt competed strongly with Turkey, since this country is an all-season destination and you can swim in the sea even in winter, Vladimir Kantorovich, First Vice-President of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia, said in a comment for EcoTourism Expert. “At the same time, the question of price for our not the richest population is very important. And I think that if the prices for vacations in Egypt are quite low and comparable, then our tourists, not giving a damn about the heat, will fly there and "pull" a certain amount of tourist flow from Turkey and Crimea."
