Vadim Dashuk, head of the commission of the Russian Union of the Tourist Industry on campsites, glampings and non-capital accommodation facilities, said that today glampings are very popular among tourists. Increased demand is also influenced by the growing popularity of outdoor recreation.
Since 2018, the number of glamping sites in Russian regions has grown from 40 to 400. They usually appear in places where capital construction is prohibited or impossible due to remoteness or environmental restrictions. Glampings are all about relaxation. The conditions in them are more comfortable than in campsites.
According to the Russian Glamping Association, the majority of such facilities are in the Moscow and Leningrad regions, in the Krasnodar Territory, Altai and Crimea, as well as in the Sverdlovsk Region and Karelia. Of the 400 glamping sites, 241 operate year-round.
In 2018, by order of the Federal Tourism Agency and with the participation of the PCT, a standard for camping in Russia was developed, which took into account all world practices in this type of accommodation. According to Dashuk, glampings also need standardization. He noted that tourists should clearly understand what they can expect in such accommodation facilities.
The Ministry of Regional Security of the Murmansk Region has developed a draft regulatory act that eases the possibilities of using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for photography and videography
