On December 11, the Krasnoyarsk Stolby National Park welcomed the millionth visitor of 2022, the Russian Ministry of Natural Resources reported on its website.

“The honorary title was given to two young families who visited the national park almost at the same time,” the department noted.
Both families live in Krasnoyarsk.

The guests of honor at the eastern entrance to the national park were met by the director of the Krasnoyarsk Pillars, Vyacheslav Shcherbakov, and the head of the tourism agency of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Olga Vasilenko.

“In addition to memorable souvenirs, they presented the lucky ones with certificates for accommodation in the hotel of the Narym Scientific and Educational Center and learned how comfortable visiting the Krasnoyarsk Pillars has become,” the report says.

The eastern entrance for the solemn meeting of the anniversary visitors was not chosen by chance - in recent years this is the most developing and promising tourist destination, a third of all visitors to the national park choose routes here.

“In general, we have been going to Stolby for 15 years, since school. Recently, the infrastructure in the national park has been greatly developed: well-maintained hiking trails, a playground for children with locations have appeared. Near the visitor center there is a good large parking lot. And I would also like to note the new warm toilets, a room for mother and child, pump rooms for drinking water,” said Vladimir Parubov, the millionth visitor to the national park this year.

According to the Ministry of Natural Resources, over the past five years, the Krasnoyarsk National Park has consistently been among the three most visited specially protected natural areas in Russia.

The record number of visitors exceeding one million is recorded in the national park for the second time. This happened for the first time in 2019, when the XXIX World Winter Universiade was held in Krasnoyarsk. According to preliminary forecasts, this year the Krasnoyarsk Pillars have every chance to surpass the figures of the pre-pandemic year.

Visitor registration cameras at the entrances to the national park were installed in 2015.

The Krasnoyarsk Pillars National Park is located on the northwestern spurs of the Eastern Sayan Mountains, founded in 1925 to preserve natural complexes around picturesque rocks - syenite remnants. At present, its area is 47 thousand 219 hectares.

In 1925, six thousand people visited the national park, in 2021 - 905 thousand tourists.
