The protagonist of the cartoon “Guardians of the Arctic” lives in Tikhaya Bay and his name is Serge, according to the “Russian Arctic” national park.

The protagonist of the animated movie «Arctic Dogs» is a small polar fox whose name is Swifty. He actually lives in Bay Tikhaya of the Franz Josef Land archipelago, the Russian Arctic National Park told EcoTourism Expert.

According to Andrei Kunnikov, deputy director of the National Park for Environmental Education and Tourism, the furry assistant really “works” at the post office of Hooker Island, just as in the cartoon. The media wrote about him in 2016. At the same time, a marked postcard with the image of this animal was issued.

The Arctic post noticed the Arctic fox as a puppy and gave him the nickname Seryoga. The staff of the island's stronghold drew attention to the fact that he comes to people without fear and stays with them for a long time. Seryoga meets icebreakers with tourists arriving at the Arctic island. He also made friends with the local postman located on the island of the northernmost post office in the world, which is part of the Russian Post of the Arkhangelsk Province.

The post office on Hooker Island was opened in August 2014 when a nuclear icebreaker “50 Years of Victory” landed the island. A post office with an index of 163110 operates during the summer navigation period in the Barents Sea from June to September.

In the cartoon, the little fox works in the mailroom of the Arctic Blast Delivery Service but dreams one day to become a member of the top team of husky couriers and, possibly, head the post office in the Arctic town, which received the name of Taigaville in the Russian version. The animated film was released in the United States on November 1, in Russia the premiere will be held on November 14.
