The press service of the Leningrad Zoo announced the replenishment of the Manul family. Kitten Shu is the firstborn of male Sven and female Namika. He got his name for his funny hissing at people.

Breeding manul is not an easy task for specialists. The last time these cats bred in the Leningrad Zoo was 15 years ago. Thus, the birth of Shu can be called a victory for the department of predatory mammals.

A newborn boy grows up active and healthy. Now he weighs a little more than a kilogram. The kitten plays a lot with her mother and is already trying adult food. Namika is very protective of the cub and does not let anyone near him.

Zoo staff urge visitors to behave very carefully and quietly near the mom and baby, so as not to scare the family.
