The official website of the Kamchatka Territory reported that the region has exceeded 350,000 tourist arrivals in the first three quarters of the year. Officials expect this number to increase slightly by the end of the year.
Regional authorities anticipate that the opening of a new international airport will have a positive impact on tourist flow. The airport is scheduled to begin operations in the first quarter of 2025, with a technical opening planned for December. The new terminal has a capacity of 1,145 passengers per hour and will feature souvenir shops, a hotel, and dining options.
Kamchatka has been consistently improving its tourism infrastructure. Over half of the region's hotels and resorts are now classified and have received star ratings. The region is also home to 151 tour operators, 150 certified guides, 10 tour guides, and 322 certified instructors.
The event calendar for 2025 has already been developed. The traditional dog sled race "Beringia" will be a key event of the winter tourist season. The festival includes sports, ethnographic, and business events for both residents and visitors to the Kamchatka Territory.
