The press service of the Ministry of Economic Development announced the conclusion of an agreement between Russia, China and Mongolia on the development of the Great Tea Route tourist route. 18 Russian regions from the Trans-Baikal Territory to St. Petersburg are already ready to join the new project.

As part of the route, it is planned to develop, first of all, tourism products in the field of excursion and educational tourism. Stops along the route will include museums displaying memorabilia reminiscent of the tea trade, hotels, recreational facilities, spas based on the best restoration methods adopted in Russia, China and Mongolia, retail establishments and restaurants.

The geography of the route follows the trade route from China through Mongolia, Siberia, the Urals and the Volga region to Moscow and St. Petersburg, created in the 18th century for the export of tea.
