From July 28 to 30, the best domestic and foreign films about scientific research and discoveries, outstanding scientists, human psychology and technology development will be shown at the mountain resort. The festival will feature two Russian film premieres. The French film "Producing Happiness" (2022) and the Danish "Uninvited Guests" will be screened in our country for the first time.

FANK Weekend at Rosa Khutor is a new format of the traditional FANK festival, which has been held under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation in different regions of the country since 2016, covering more than 200 cities and villages. Its distinctive feature is a combination of author's films about science, scientific stand-ups, lectures and discussions.

FUNK Weekend at Rosa Khutor is held with the support of Rosbank, the partner participation of the ChainLab blockchain technology laboratory of the Idea scientific center and the mountain lecture hall of the Sport-Marathon club, on the site of which all film screenings will be held (Rosa Khutor, Panorama Embankment, 4).

As Irina Belykh, program director of FANK, member of the expert council on non-fiction films of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, curator of the Science as Art initiative as part of the Decade of Science and Technology, notes: “I am grateful to the partners for the opportunity to hold the festival in a new format for us - FUNK Weekend. I think science cinema will definitely attract the attention of vacationers at the resort, because it is fashionable and intellectual leisure. In addition, we have chosen topics that will interest not only those who follow the scientific agenda, but also the widest audience. Issues of the psychology of happiness, ecology, environmental protection and the latest blockchain technologies will be touched upon. Viewers will be able to discuss all films with the best experts. I am sure that these discussions will also be bright and exciting.”

The Rosa Khutor Contemporary Science Film Festival will host not only film screenings, but also scientific discussions after each screening. Leading Russian scientists and filmmakers are invited to participate as experts. The FUNK Weekend Festival of Contemporary Science Film at Rosa Khutor is included in the List of international film festivals held in the Russian Federation for 2023, approved by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.
