The purpose of publishing such a guide is to develop the cultural, tourist and environmental potential of the Moskva River. The project participated in the Moscow Mayor's Grant Competition in 2023 and is being implemented by the Center for Strategic Research "Institute of Social Theories, Ecology and Art (STEI). This is stated in the press release of the creators of the project.

"Within the framework of the project with the already established expert community, we will study and systematize the accumulated knowledge about the Moscow River by creating the first guide "The Moscow River in the history, ecology and spiritual life of the city and the country", - the words of the project manager, Professor of the Higher School of Economics, Chairman of the Scientific Council of the Institute of STEI Vladimir Koptev-Dvornikov are quoted in the message..

In addition, within the framework of the Moscow Scientific and Practical Forum #VODAMOSKVA, experts will study the past, analyze the present and work out the image of the future of the Moskva River.

As noted in the press release, unique architectural and hydraulic structures are located on the banks of the main river of the capital, including the Kremlin, Moscow State University, the House of Music, Red October, as well as the Zachatievsky, Novodevichy, Andreevsky, Novospassky, Danilov, Nikolo-Perervinsky monasteries. And despite this, few people know about the history and architecture of the development of the banks of the Moskva River.

The project of creating a guidebook will be implemented with the support of the metropolitan Committee of Public Relations and Youth Policy.
