The first cycling path in the national parks of Russia will appear on the Curonian Spit

The start of construction of the "Curonian bicycle path" is scheduled for August 15. It is expected that the finished project will be commissioned at the end of 2023.

Portal "Interfax-tourism" with reference to the director of the National Park "Curonian Spit" Anatoly Kalina said that the construction will take place in three stages. The first stage will include the section from the village of Lesnoy to Zelenogradsk, the second stage - from Lesnoy to Rybachy, the third - from Rybachy to Morskoy. 408 million rubles were allocated for the project from the federal budget.

The bike path will be about 3 meters wide and 44 kilometers long. It will pass within 15-20 meters from the edge of the roadside Zelenogradsk-Morskoye on the right side in the direction of movement from the checkpoint of the national park in the direction of the state border.
