An active advertising campaign to attract tourists to Romania is underway in the United Kingdom. Buses with the slogan "On board to Romania" have appeared in the largest cities of the United Kingdom.
This campaign is timed to coincide with the international travel exhibition "World Travel Market" (WTM). The Romanian Ministry of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Tourism (MEAT) is using this method to promote its country as a priority tourist destination in the British market. The advertising campaign is being conducted simultaneously on buses in London, Manchester, Birmingham, and Liverpool.
In Greater London alone, 150 buses are involved. Another 50 public transport units are wrapped in banners in the center of the British capital. In total, this should provide more than 20 million views. Several million Britons will see the slogan "On board to Romania" on 50 regional buses in Birmingham, Liverpool, and Manchester, which will reach more than 4% of the country's population. Romania is interested in attracting British tourists as the most solvent and generous foreign guests.
This year, UK residents made more than 97 million international trips, spending nearly 90 billion euros in the process. Some of this money was spent in Romania. The number of Britons arriving in the country is increasing year by year: in 2022, the growth in their visits reached a record level of 280%. The current advertising campaign, supported by the expanding air traffic between the two countries, is designed to maintain this trend.
The Association of Tour Operators of Russia attributes this to affordable prices, the opening of year-round facilities, and the possibility of early booking accommodation
