The official website of the Mayor of Moscow reported that the squirrels bred their first offspring in the natural areas of the capital. Mospriroda specialists noticed small baby squirrels in the Izmailovo natural and historical park. Toddlers have already begun to explore the world around them. At the same time, their worried mother hurries to hide the baby squirrels back to the house.

"Mospriroda specialists remind that if a squirrel is found on the ground, it should not be taken away, even with good intentions. His mother is somewhere nearby and will come for him as soon as she does not feel threatened," the message says.

Squirrels are one of the most numerous species in the natural areas of Moscow. In the Moscow region, this animal usually breeds twice a season, in rare cases - three times.

Squirrels build nests in hollows or birdhouses, choosing quiet and peaceful places. Squirrels are born helpless, blind and hairless. After a month, they are ready to gradually emerge from the shelter. However, for about a month they depend on mother's milk. At the age of nine weeks, squirrels begin to live on their own.
