In the Altai Territory, work has begun on the improvement of the territory of the Denisova Cave, an object of cultural heritage.
As the regional Department for the Development of Tourism and resort activities reported on its website, the installation of a new staircase leading to Denisova Cave has begun in the region. These works are scheduled to be completed by September.
"The new staircase will be wider and safer," the report says.
Other restoration work will be carried out on the territory of the cave. According to the Glavgosexpertiza of Russia, a pavilion of the tour desk will be built for tourists, lighting poles will be installed along the entire route – from the highway to the Denisova Cave.
"The increased interest in Denisova Cave has brought to life a number of large investment projects. For example, a paleopark is planned to be built 3 km north of the archaeological monument. According to the management of the Altai "Belokurikha Resort", a land plot of 2.5 hectares has already been purchased for construction.
In addition, we are talking about the Chuysky Tract-2 project for organizing convenient access to Denisova Cave and its transport connection with Belokurikha and other tourist centers of the region," the website of Glavgosexpertiza says, with the participation of which the development of the Chuysky Tract continues, including along the tourist routes of the Altai Territory and the Altai Republic.
