The first flights to Buryatia will start from Moscow on February 12 as part of the winter charter program with the support of Rostourism.

“Guests of Buryatia will visit Olkhon Island, the Svyatoi Nos Peninsula and Barguzin Bay, get acquainted with Buryat culture and traditions, and see Buddhist monasteries: Ivolginsky datsan and datsan Rinpoche Bagsha,” reports Russia.travel.

In February and March, the ice on Lake Baikal becomes very strong and beautiful, and tourists will have the opportunity to look into ice caves, ride hivuses and snowmobiles, go ice fishing, play ice croquet and ice bowling.

Flights to Ulan-Ude are organized by Ural Airlines once a week on Saturdays until March 26, notes Russia.travel.

In addition, according to the portal, in March, Lake Baikal will host the Baikal Mile festival of speed, which is a race on the ice of the lake on cars and motorcycles in the format of a grand tour. And during February, the Fairy Tale Sagaalgan festival will be held, dedicated to the national Buryat holiday, the New Year according to the lunar calendar.
