The bill on the development of ecotourism in Russia has been submitted to the State Duma


The bill, which defines the basis for the development of eco-tourism in Russia, was passed by a group of deputies of "United Russia" in the State Duma of the Russian Federation on June 9, the corresponding document is available in the electronic database of the chamber.

It provides for the introduction of ecotourism in the priority areas of state regulation of tourism, introduces provisions that define the concept of ecological tourism. The authors propose the following wording: “tourism associated with visiting, preserving and (or) studying natural complexes and objects, natural ecological systems, their constituent elements and processes occurring in them, objects of flora and fauna, as well as their genetic fund, world objects of natural heritage for which a special protection regime has been introduced. ”

“The Russian Federation, with its vast territory, a unique variety of climatic zones and landscapes and ecosystems, has unprecedented opportunities for ecotourism, and the realization of these opportunities can play a significant role in attracting ecotourists from abroad,” the explanatory note says.

It is noteworthy that the project created to implement the provisions of the president’s messages to the Federal Assembly of 2018 and 2019, as well as the Ecology national project, will not require additional costs from the federal budget.
