Thai Vietjet celebrated the inaugural flight of its new international service connecting Bangkok and Taipei, with the welcome ceremony at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport and Taipei Taoyuan International Airport, on August 18, 2022.
At the start, due to limited capacity quota in Taiwan, the new international service from Bangkok to Taipei will operate 1 flight a week on every Thursday, with more frequency to be added subject to the region’s ease of travel restriction.
Currently, passengers entering Thailand are no longer required to possess a certificate of testing for a negative COVID-19 result prior to entering the country or upon arrival. Passengers are also not required to quarantine upon arrival due to the removal of the ‘Test & Go’ scheme from 1 May 2022.
As the Fastest Growing Low-cost Carrier of the Year 2020 (awarded by Global Business Outlook Magazine, London), Thai Vietjet has continuously expanded its flight network, both domestic and international. The airline has recently been awarded the ‘New Airline Award’ of the Changi Airline Award 2022 for commencing flight services to Changi Airport despite COVID-19, highlighting the airline’s contributions toward maintaining the resilience of the Singapore air hub during the pandemic.
